The scratchboard is by far one of my best pieces. I am very proud of what I accomplished in this. Showing the different textures by the way I scratch them off, really gave the peace what it needed. I think that my piece is unique considering that no one in the class thought about using snow in their scratchboard. It represents me because obviously I like to snowboard and if I find something to draw that intrigues me then I will be more focused to get it done and add as much detail as I can. I love this media because it is a different style than the rest. It is a very different way of drawing. You have to focus on the lights not on the darks like in every other material. I made sure to know what everything looks like before I started John. I really tried to make the powder look exactly like the snow. The tools I use really helped me bring out this photo. I am very satisfied with this piece and I hope to do more scratchboard like it. I think this is a great way to try something different and not doing just the ordinary.

The charcoal drawing was challenging but actually really fun. I couldn't really get the shading down but I got the figure pretty well. I had him stand beside it so I could measure where his head shoulders waste knees and toes all placed on the paper. I feel like it would be easier to draw it life-size than small. Because life-sized you can get a lot more detail in without worrying about messing up the whole thing. I was challenged in trawling the Folds on the clothes. I wish I could've added more shading but I did not have enough time in class. I think it would've turned out better if I shaded the face.
the skeleton drawing was good experience. I started by making a outline of were everything was proportionally. First the head then shoulders then hips then knees and feet. I shaded the bones trying to make it more realistic. I wish I had the time to work on it and finish it.
I liked this project becaus it showed me how to focus on the whole figure not just a certain piece of the body. I norticed that the body is a bunch of shapes.
I like this price because I got to change myself into something different. I decided to make myself into a zombie. My work is unique because I tried to make it a little different from everyone else's. I think I accomplished that by making a background. I also made blood dripping down the cheeks. I added as much detail to the hair as I could. I tried to make the hair look like it was wet by having bigger pieces stuck together. If I was to change anything it would probably be the way the neck looks and the cut in the neck. I did not put all of it into proportion. It looks a little bit to small and I should have made the cut bigger. But over all I liked the project and my piece
I DEVELOP MY ART MAKING SKILLS: the skull gave me a pretty good start on this project. At first I shaded the whole thing and I didn't like it so I had to go back in and redue it. I've never drawn hair and I like how I did on my first time. The lips are better than my drawings on the other page.
WE COLLABORATE: mrs Rossi and my friends around my table helped me through out this project. I needed help with the lips and the hair. They gave me a couple tips to help me through it. I REFLECT: I took my time on this art piece. I first did the shape and placement of everything. Then I started adding details to the eyes and the nose. I reflected after that and relived that the nose need more shading. Then I went to the hair and lips and I thought that the lips were fine but I needed to add more details to the hair. drawing this out helped me figure out how to get it in portion. The eyes are a good measurement for how long everything is and where to lay it out.
For the eyes you have to take longer and focus on the eyelashes and eye brows. I learned from the nose and lips that I have to take longer and shade with the way that it moves.
i started of Using the eye chart method that mrs rossi taught us.shading the face/ nose took the most time over all. It all started to come together once i put in the hair. Then i went back through and darkened the shadingI CREATE ORIGINAL ART: I DECIDED TO DO THE SKATEPARK BECAUSE IT IS ONE OF MY HOBBIES AND I'M THERE ALL THE TIME AND IT WAS REALLY EASY TO GET A PICTURE. I WANTED TO DO ONE OF THE RAILS AROUND THE PARK AND THIS ONE HAD THE MOST BACKGROUND TO IT.
I COMMUNICATE THROUGH MY ARTWORK: I HAVE SKATEBOARDED MY WHOLE LIFE. MY DAD WAS A SKATER SO I'VE ALWAYS BEEN AROUND IT. IT HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE SPORT EVER SINCE. I REFLECT: MIDWAY THROUGH THIS PIECE I LOOKED AT THE WHOLE PICTURE AND IT WAS WAY TO WHITE. SO I ADDED GRAY TO THE GROUND AND THE STAIRS. THIS MADE MY PIECE NOT LOOK AS BLAND. IT ALSO IMPROVED MY WAY OF SHADING. |
